Corn removal

Description

Corns (heloma) form as a result of local pressure — ill-fitting footwear, toe deformities, sport. In the practice we remove the corn with a podiatry scalpel (painlessly) and a burr, then work out the cause with the patient: chronically bad footwear, a toe deformity, or gait. Without addressing the cause, corns come back. Sometimes we recommend a silicone orthotic for the toes or a consultation with a physiotherapist.

Who it's for

Patients with painful thickenings under the toes, on the heel, or between the toes.

What to expect

30 minutes. Immediate relief after the treatment. Long-term success depends on correcting the footwear.
