Ingrown toenail removal, one side

Description

An ingrown toenail (onychocryptosis) is a condition in which the nail plate grows into the fold, causing pain, inflammation and sometimes discharge. The treatment involves carefully removing the ingrown part of the plate, cleaning the fold and — if needed — applying a spacer dressing. Relief is usually immediate. This is not a surgical procedure — we perform it without cutting the skin and without general anaesthesia. For recurring ingrowth we recommend an orthonyxia brace as a long-term solution.

Who it's for

Patients with pain in the big toe or a smaller toe, cases following an infection, people who do sport.

What to expect

45 minutes. Mild sensations during the treatment, relief right afterwards. We recommend loose footwear for 24–48h after the visit.
